Pa-le-ka-na, adj. safe; in a state of safety from danger.

Palekana Permitting and Planning is a locally-owned, full-service building permit services company in Honolulu, Hawaii.

BACKGROUND

Palekana Permits, LLC was established to provide third party review and permit expediting services. The word “Palekana” in Hawaiian means “safe, to feel secure from danger, in a state of safety.” We feel that it is an appropriate name for a company that helps its clients to be safe and to avoid delays and problems on their projects by meeting the government requirements properly and effectively. In 2005, Dennis Enomoto and the late Dan Ide began expediting building permit applications through the City’s Building Department. In 2006, they were joined by Frank Katakura, then a 36 year, recently retired veteran Plan Examiner with the City & County of Honolulu’s Building Department. Palekana sought and was granted certification by the City to conduct third party review of commercial building permit application. Jonn Serikawa joined the firm in 2008 to head up Operations. Darren Lee, LEED certified architect and certified Building Code Reviewer, joined Palekana in 2010 and provides expanded Code Consultation Services as well as expertise in Construction Administration and Construction Management and Project Close Out. Maui and Hawaii Island Expediting are also available.

Principals of Palekana Permits, LLC are Dennis Enomoto, Jonn Serikawa and Darren Lee.

Palekana utilizes a strong technical base and its knowledge of the permitting process to become the most effective permit expeditor in this specialized field.
